Removing the timer from the LFO page

Hello everyone,

Would like to understand if its possible to remove the timer when navigating through the LFO page?
Think that would be super helpful for when jamming and experimenting different combinations !

I don’t think so. There doesn’t seem to be a timer setting for the menus nor a timer word in the manual.

I second the idea that the timer in the LFO menu is more bothering than useful, it’s a bit getting in the way indeed. Something I’ve always thought but never reporting, just adapting to the annoyance.

Hitting No (cancel and get back to previous value) to close the menu or Yes and any menu button for confirming selection would be an improvement to me.

@eangman do you know more/would you share any info regarding the thinking behind the timing for this LFO menu disappearance?

are you talking about the bpm/metronome icon? i don’t understand how it is getting in the way of anything?

This drives me nuts, it makes me feel so rushed to settle on something, when I’d prefer to audition the outcome for at least a moment. I’m away from any boxes at the moment, but I want to say that I typically choose a setting with yes, listen for a bit, then hit PARAMETER PAGE + NO to revert?

When you are selecting an LFO destination the menu times out after four seconds, and reverts to the original setting.
You can’t leave it sitting on an item to hear its effect.

Same thing happens with the sample slot on the Digitakt, only that change is confirmed when it times out.

I’d much rather the menu stayed open until confirmed/cancelled with yes/no - though I can see an argument for both behaviors (so an option would be nice).

Yes, more stressfull than usefull.

And please put destinations in the right order, following parameters ABCDEFGH* order.
It takes more time to choose !
And for LFO2, put LFO1 destinations at the end.

*Ex for BD MODERN, the order is AEFBGCDH. ?

Many synths allow you to map LFOs destinations more like midi learn vs using a menu.
Prime example is how the PRO3 does this. You hold the destination button, then tweak the thing you want to map to. Might be worth exploring on Elektron boxes where you click the LFO encoder (maybe even click and hold it for a moment), then it enters a mode that waits for you to tweak a destination.

And I also dislike the LFO menu timer, and wish I had an option to turn it off
