When I pre slice a recording buffer do the slices belong to the the buffer or to the track? Meaning, when I go to a different part and pattern and I want to have different preslices can that be on the same track and recording buffer without destroying the earlier slices? If yes, how? Doesn’t work here…
can I record a recording buffer with a different number on a track with another number, meaning for example, can I record recording buffer7 on track 1? If yes, how? It doesn’t work here.
No, the buffer can be used anywhere though, but Track X will always record Buffer X, even for a Master Track (buffer8), the buffers are always there and referenced the same way
The slices are saved in the sample slot of the recording buffer, same as all samples they are saved in the slot. Not the buffer or the track… You can load the same file or buffer to multiple flexes and have them all sliced differently… If you change them again in the same slot it will change that slot for all patterns, load the buffer to a different slot and slice it differently…
I believe there’s still a bug where slices don’t hold for recorder buffers (very first 8 slots) after power cycle, start points work just like slices but are always even divisions…
For slices If you save the sample and settings from the buffer you can load to another flex and it will hold after power cycle.
Tnx guys. I am using to record live with different sections per song. I play most of the samples live and as it looks now, reading the comments, I will need all the tracks for live sampling. That means an extra drumcomputer most likely. …
Recorder tracks are completely different than audio tracks… OT has 8 recorder tracks each linked to the track number of the audio track yet independent. It’s possible to say have 8 recordings being made in real time, without even loading any of the buffers to the flex machines on audio tracks…
It’s a little confusing at first but it’s highly flexible probably a lot more so than you think, and you should be able to do what you want to do…
My OT only has 3 samples loaded for the past 3 years, all I do is live realtime sampling and playback…
The slots are project wide…
If you use a different part and access the same slot it will have the same slices… So if you redo the slices in that slot it will show up in the first part you used…
If you want to use different slices for a different part you assign the machines to a different slot but load the same sample or recorder buffer to it…
Same for banks, but you have 4 more parts to work with…
I believe this is all accurate, have been away from my OT for a month though…
Tnx for this mike.
But how do I load a recording buffer to a different slot? I can imagine with a sample from the disk, you just assign it, but with recorder buffers?
I might have been wrong about that, I know you can load samples to different slots and slice differently, for the buffer you might have to save it as a sample first. I like to be near the OT to verify things like this before posting, but I’m not right now…
I might be confused because I use start points instead of slices, so they’re just saved as locks in the pattern… Good to have OT near by for these questions…
