Okay so yesterday I upgraded my Cheetah ms6 so that it can receive CC messages from Octatrack. This now works fine, I can P Lock various CCs
and its happy days. However, I cant get the Octatrack to record midi notes (chords mainly) so I can play about with them in the Appegiator. It only triggers the Cheetah when using using single key trigs from Octa in Chromatic mode. Am i missing something really obvious? I have set up a thru track, set midi to 16 channels (as stated in manual), into midi mode and specified channel 1 and set some trigs. Basically i just want to trigs to trigger some chords. Any ideas??
Yep…Midi Channel on Cheetah is 1, so is Octa. Midi receive lights appear both on Octa and Cheetah. I can hear the synth. Just dont know how to apply a chord im playing to a trigger.
Are you trying to build chords by recording one note at a time? The MIDI sequencing is a little quirky in that way because the overdub will create a new trig replacing the existing one.
To record chords in live rec mode you need to bang all the notes at the same time. In grid mode you can plock a “root note” and three additional notes per trig on the “Note” page.
Hope this helps, I’m not an expert really and it’s hard sometimes to try to give advice when it’s not always so obvious how much the OP knows already.
Yeah ive had the Octa for a month so its all quite new for me. I was watching the midi/appegiator video and the guy looked like he was playing a chord on the keyboard which then looped because he had triggers applied. So im trying to do that ideally
