I’m still learning all the features on my newly bought syntakt and I was wondering if it’s possible to record a midi performance in syntakt as patterns chain into each other? For example if I’ve attached a midi keyboard and I’m playing an evolving ambient melody and 64 steps isn’t enough, is there some way to record the performance over several patterns to capture something longer than 64 steps? Would song mode allow this?
Song mode wouldn’t because it is for playback and not recording, but I believe you can do pattern chains to make it automatically progress from one pattern to the next to get the midi recorded in, although I haven’t tried it myself. Look up pattern chains in the manual for a how to and let us know if it works.

Recording in Pattern Chain mode works on all the Elektrons I’ve tried it on (Rytm, Syntakt, Four, Octatrack).
I’d assumed it would also work in Song mode, but maybe it doesn’t…
