Recording DT2/DN2 use usb overbridge or audio out?

Hey guys, often I’m not wanting to use overbridge to split the tracks into my daw and just use post fx main to record a live take directly from DT2/DN2 via usb

Just wondering if there is any benefits to recording audio out into DAW rather than using USB? I often find that it never sounds quite the same when I record using USB.

Class compliant USB audio to a stereo track includes all effects and mixer settings, so any panning or whatever levels you’ve set will remain intact.

Using overbridge for stems gives you dry tracks, no FX, no mixer settings, and at like -12db . It’s primarily intended to get the audio off of your device so you can further process and add effects in the DAW.

Between these two forms of USB audio, any audible differences will probably come down to those factors. Quality of recorded audio should be the same.

Recording from the main outs as a hardware connection would likely have an audible difference though.

I use the OB standalone app and record Main L&R, I think it sounds great and you get a nice clean recording. This way it includes all the effects, master overdrive, etc.
