Just recently (OS 1.25 and OS 1.25B) I sample into a track recorder, save and assign to self, and periodically the sample will just stop being triggered and is silent. I go into edit mode for that track, and see no waveform displayed.
Exit edit mode, double-click the track button to access the sample slot list, reload the sample, and then it plays, and displays correctly in edit mode. Then, randomly and for no apparent reason, it goes silent again, and I have to repeat the process.
I can’t detect a pattern that’s causing this to happen. I’ve never had this problem before in over 2 years. Am I missing something?
hmmm…
Option 1: I suspect you checked for recording-triggers in your project.
or one-shot triggers you forgot… and accidently trigger somehwere.
if you did check… recheck please… but hmm had to ask
if you didnt
well… this could be it…
option2: recordings triggered by incoming midi…
question 1 : is there something in your octrack_midi_in_input ?
if yes, does it have a sequencer / and or are you pressing keys on it?
if no: hmmmmm
Option 3: Find somebody smarter then me to help you find the prob
good luck on your quest…
Y’know, this could be it, now that I think about it. The occurrences are random but that makes sense that I’d be accidentally overlooking that.
Will check and report back later - thank you for the heads-up.
no problem buddy…
I hope you find the triggers and be done with your problem…
good luck on your quest…

i might have thought of option4:
Did you save your part, after saving your sample and assigning it to the slot and all that??
sample-in-slot stuff is kinda linked to parts… so for some reason… you might unlink it, when reloading your part somewhere…
(this is not tested by my fingers… something simular but not exactly the same happend here) …
anyways, i still hope its the trigger-thing… that would be the easiest to spot/fix
enjoy
Good thought on option #4, but I havn’t been changing parts or patterns at all. I cleared the rec trigs from the tracks and haven’t had any more trouble. No idea how I was managing to randomly arm the tracks.
Thanks again.
I go on hiatus from herb, and look what happens.
Depends a bit on “the mode” your octa is in… if its its in recording mode… or play-mode
I think in record-mode… the YES-button will rearm the CURRENT track.
and if its in playmode… the YES-button will rearm ALL the tracks.
And yes, in the heat of the mix this can play tricks on you.
and to be honest. if you smoke the chronic like the english drink gin & tonic, things can be a tad bit hazey
