I only use my octatrack as an fx tool, a looper for song transition and a white noise processor.
and I am looking forward for Overbridge to use with keys and rytm. This will help me to create full songs, I think.
But maybe I don’t need Overbridge. If I can record my sequences I play with Keys or Rytm in my Octatrack. Is this possible?
I think on youtube I only find videos where people use their octatrack sequencer to sequence rytm/keys. But I love the workflow on these 2 machines, so I prefer to use it, and then record to my octatrack.

The AK and AR sequencers don’t output MIDI (apart from clock and transport messages).
(Obviously, you can use the AK’s keyboard to play the Octatrack.)
The AR/AK don’t send midi out, even if they did, you’d loose the native plocks, the midi plocks aren’t as flexible. Recording audio is your best option, though not what you want !
so recording midi while jamming around with keys & rytm is not possible anyway?
with my m-audio keyboard I used to do this in ableton
The sequencers don’t output midi note info unlike the pre analog boxes, from memory, the A4 keys output notes but not when sequenced up
