Hello everyone!
As a preface I’m kind of new to the electron ecosystem and workflow so if my question is already answered, sorry for the duplicate but I was not able to find it. (So I’m gladly accept a link as an an answer)
I have a setup where I have a digitone as master device as it has dedicated midi tracks so I don’t need to sacrifice any sound for communication as my other device is a syntakt and that is set up as a slave in the chain. Clock, program change etc. are set up send-receive accordingly.
A midi keyboard is plugged into the digitone midi in. The digitone has an autochanel
beeing set (that is the keyboard is sending). The midi channel 1 of the digitone it is sending midi info on a channel that is the auto channel on the syntakt. So on the digitone any selected track plays properly by hitting a key on the midi keyboard and if the midi ch1 is selceted then the syntakt plays its sounds properly based on the selected track on it.
When I live record trigs on the digitone with metronome (preroll turned on) - by holding record and hitting on play it records just fine.
My issue is when I try to record live in sytakt and if I initiate the recoding session on digitone the syntak starts in play mode and of course it is not recording. If I initiate the recording on the syntakt it starts on its own and digitone is not playing at all - as expected - as the recording is initiated from the slave device.
So I don’t know what am I missing here.
Is there a way to start the recording on the digitone(master) to have all the devices playing and have the syntakt(slave) run in recording mode as well?
And the same preroll would be nice to have as when I initiate the recording on the digitone it has the preroll, but the sytankt just plays immediately without any preroll…
Thank for any advice in advance!
Cheers!
