They’ve always been upfront it is optimised for Ableton.
And everything works better on Mac 
I’m on Mac but when I put overbridge on AR with 8 OUT and o A4 with 4 OUT to my DAW
It crackles!!!

Fiddle with the buffer size and safety margin until you find a good compromise.
Maybe they can advertise the Crackles as a “distortion effect”
I gave up 1,5 years ago. High pitched noises every now and then - rebooting laptop and all devices to get it working. Got really tired of it killing all the vibe when I had my limited time to produce.
Hot tip: those devices have holes at back - you can insert certain technology wires to them to route audio to “mixer”. Works for me - no hassle.
Ok - to be fair, I got tired to all audio problems and lag on my Mac and nowadays I only sequence with live (audio not going through). Recording the audio on my mixer…

That’s true. Works for me anyway, typically I use mostly A4s own effects with it. And I have other gear for polyphony and bass so I rarely use all 4 tracks anyway.
