I’ve seen some forums have different reactions besides heart/like. Often “like” is not what I’m trying to say, especially on posts that are funny but maybe kind of off topic or even more on sad posts, where It’s just weird to “like” them. A few more options would be IMO welcome and would also reduce the posts only containing emoticons, “LOLs” etc. What do you think?
Btw., am I wrong, or did Elektronauts actually had this feature a few years ago (I think around time when I first registered)?
I’ve had the experience, on this forum, of 1. Being a dick, 2. Being called out for being a dick, and 3. Watching the person who called me out for being a dick…get a bunch of hearts.
…afaik, this “prefab” forum protocol is not really able to offer more reaction options at this point…and, any mods might wanna correct me on this, it’d be a tough pack of xtra miles of tedious work to change anything about this…
since workarounds are always welcome… in this case, i’d suggest just hit “reply” and drop/post one of the massive selection options of the various emojis available here to ur liking, instead of just clicking the heart icon underneath to any dedicated post u’d whish to react to…
Anyway, no need to change anything to the system here. I just recently came across another discourse installation where user profiles carried a hell load of “earned” badges. I’d rather express opinions personally and interact instead of making this a gamified contest.
