As soon as I map the rate to a scene, there is a slight pitch drop unless the scene value is +63.
Extreme example : set rate to +63 on scene A. Put crossfader 100% on A. set rate to +62 on scene B. Pitch drop. Bummer.
To me, it’s a bug.
Have you tried changing the timestretch settings?
What do you mean precisely ? (I never enable timestretch).
I’m not in my studio, but if you’re using a flex machine there should be timestretch settings in src page 2. Timestretch is always automatically on unless you change it. There are also timestretch settings in the AED file page.
You may need to recalibrate your crossfader. Search the forum.
Thanks, first thing I always do is do disable it.
That sounds like it could be that, indeed, thanks for the hint !
calibration procedure.
- enter Test Mode (Hold Function + Power On)
- hold Function + Scene B while moving the crossfader across the entire range. The trigs should be green on trig 1 and trig 16 once you reach the full range on either side.
- reboot normally.
Yes but there are settings to pitch it to the bpm or to maintain the pitch through the stretch from my understanding.
Maybe I’m not reading it right, but they seem to be saying that there is a pitch change from going from a rate of 63 to 62. Not sure that has anything to do with the x-fader.
By default, RATE change pitch with timestretch on or off, unless set to TSTR
With RATE set to TSTR, it changes playback speed with timestretch on.
Still with RATE set to TSTR and Timestretch off, it does only reverse / normal playback, without pitch nor timestretch. Usefull if you want reverse only assigned to the crossfader, without pitch.
o.0 - I sort of doubt that would be unexpected; but you could be right. (:
It’s yellow on A side, red on B side…
My bad, I wasn’t holding FUNC while moving the fader.
It’s fixed and I thank you (very much).
