Alas, Buckler does not play on this track…
RIP Rick. Great band and massive for me growing up.
SNAP! is still one of the greatest compilations of any band too, imo.

I had a nagging feeling this might be the case, and while that‘s somewhat embarrassing it‘s still my favourite of the not so obvious tracks by The Jam.
He did play it live though on tour.
Who played on the studio version?
I was referring to a post, now deleted, which had a YT link to a studio track that was just Paul Weller on guitar, no drums, no bass. And in truth it was somewhat snarky of me and detracts from the subject at hand. I was fortunate to see the Jam touring Setting Sons, in a modest venue in Toronto with good sight lines (they were critically acclaimed on my side of the pond, but were not a household name). The band was on fire, the audience kinetic.
Yaah i was just curious.
i was about 14 when they split, all my school mates and i were mad Jam fans here in the UK they were massive.
Not quite old enough to have made it to a gig though, but they were my soundtrack through early teens.
Sad to hear this. What a cracking band. And drummer, too.
