Quick Midi Question

Hi. I am wondering if its possible to have Digitakt control other gear as a Start/Stop clock, but not as a global BPM. I have DT midi out to DN Midi In, then Midi Thru to Tr8-S.
I want the DT/DN running at 80 BPM and would want the Tr8-S at 160. I realize i can program a double time feel in 80 BPM, but id rather have all 16th notes available…
Im pretty new to this whole world, having played drum set for the last 23 years.
Thanks!

For some reason, Elektron chose to combine the settings for MIDI clock and transport messages on the DT and DN.

The TR-8S seems to be similarly inflexible.

However, you can use the SCALE setting in the Scale Menu to get the Elektron gear to run at a different tempo than the MIDI clock tempo.

aha… thats a good idea. I’ve enjoyed my experiments with the scale modes on the DT. it just stretches out those sample times/delay times etc and it takes on a whole new shape. Which is totally fucking rad! i hadn’t thought of approaching it from that angle. Probably a tactic for a different project, though…
Thanks!
