I have some (lot of) questions about the ots’ capabilites and if it fits my needs.
To cut a long story short. I move and so I am forced to replace my beloved mpc3k, 4k and some synths (temporarily).
Currently my setup contains an mpc3 an 4k plus tons of (multi) samples I recorded over the last twenty+ years.
Most of them are eps, akai and wav files.
The main question is IS the Ot capable of replacing an mpc3/4000?
Ok, not the 4k as the ot is not a “real” sampler like the z4 I reckon but is capable of being more than a sketchbook?
Is it a on stage plus studio tool?
When playing live this it what comes pretty close next to it:
My questions are:
Does the Oc support keymapping and multisampling?
Can I sample chromatically?
How many mute groups are available?
Is it possible to merge 7 or all 8 tracks into one long sample/track and overudb endlessly?
Is it possible to merge incoming audio when sampling with the 8 tracks?
Does 8 tracks mean 8x1 mono or 4x2 stereo?
Do Looppoints exist? If so how many and can they be modulated by lfos?
Is it possible to record/merge by the number of bars?
Lets say I patch a 12 bar sequence and intent to sample those 12 bars. Can I specify the number of bars directly in the Oc or is there still the 2 bar limit as in the md?
Are the lfos loopable?
Are there any ad(shr)s? If so, are they loopable?
Is an mm like Arp available? Also for midi?
Is it possible to trigger the sampling process by threshold, midi and or trigger in?
Is it possible to chop a sample and modulate the chops?
Do crossfade loops exist? If so, is it possible to crossafade between track 1 and 7, 7 and 3 and so on?
Are there any dropouts when switching symple banks? Do sample banke even exist?
How is the fx quality compared to an ensoniq dp/pro?
Are the fxs routable (serial/parellel)?
Is there finally a decent midi routing (filtering, etc.)?
