So been curious to find a better 303 hard hitting bass than my Roland TB303 boutique that is ok but worst user interface. Looking at Erica Synths Bassline and Acidlab.de Bassline synths. Any experience with the Acidlab.de product line including the Acidlab Bassline and Detroit 909 drum synthesizer? If so, wondering how they compare in terms of quality, user interface, sound to Erica Synths desktop product offerings? I plan to sell off my boutique Rolands next year and replace them with something like this for my goa acid trance 909 sounds.
I can’t speak to their Bassline3 but I did pickup a Drumatix from another 'naut earlier this year and it sounds absolutely awesome! It’s well made and the interface on the Drumatix is simple – twiddle some knobs to get the sounds you want and program in some patterns. Easy peasy. I haven’t tried the more complicated pattern features, as I have plenty of other sequencers for that sort of stuff.
I bought a Drumatix from acidlab a few months back. Very solid build and as @pmags says, it sounds fantastic. Communication with the one-man venture was great and it came very well packed. BTW, the Detroit 909 clone never made it to production. I don’t know why.
or perhaps Jomox Alphabase that is similar to 909
yup just heard back from Klaus and he is not selling the Detroit 909 unfortunately. So may go with another 909 clone.
Judging from demos, Alphabase has distinctly different character from a 909 and is definitely not a 909 clone, whereas the discontinued Jomox Airbase 99 and X base 09 are 909 clones. Still, I think the Din Sync RE-09 is much closer than those two Jomox.
is the Resync even still made brand new? I only see it used selling at very high prices.
Donner B1. Largely the same circuitry as the TD-3, but with a few upgraded components and improved sequencer. You can get them for 100 currency units, so not expensive to try out.
I have no experience with their 303 clones and never used anything from Erica Synths. But I had an Acidlab Miami (808) for a while and really liked the sound and build quality was great, too.
Since we’re talking 303 clones, let me also put in a good word for the Cyclone Analogic TT-303 Bass Bot.
DinSync sell the components (490 euros inc vat), and the case is 324 incl VAT. Looks like Kumptronics would build it but no price quote on their site.
gotcha well I think LXR02 and Erica Synths Bassline would be fun on desk to play with for recording some goa trance lines.
I checked up on the DinSync 909 clone and you can get it build for around 2000 € or buy the components, case etc and build it yourself.
I looked into it cause I heard it at Superbooth and I think it sounds really good.
I never tried a OG 909 though……
Ohh but at the same superbooth I saw Tunegirl rocking a Behringer 909 with no complaints
who is tunegirl? sorry never heard of her.
Tunegirl kicks ass (hardware techno)
Yeah it was a super cool show @superbooth.
cool beans I need to check her stuff out
I didn’t know about her but just thought that the name was cool and she was an older lady, which you don’t come across often in the modular world. I think that you can find her on YT or IG
