Question about Conditional Trigs

Making progress, a bit more, every day! Got into the conditional triggers, I think I understand them well, but have a question. Can I use one to use the retrigger function? I have a simple hat pattern, and I’d love to set it so occasionally, one of them ratchets. It seems as though the best way to do this would be a trig condition, but I haven’t found anything that would let me do this. I don’t want to just trigger that hat under a condition. It’s going to have a simple trigger, I just want it to retrig/ratchet some time. Is that possible?

Best way to do it is to make that trigger do its ratchet, and set the condition to whatever you want. Then, the trig before it, set a parameter lock to retrig at the rhythm of your hats. When the conditional trig fires, it will overrule the static retrig of the prior trig.

Exactly this. Check out Oscillator Syncs video for his shaker techniques. He does this exact thing.

Took a minute to get my brain around this, but I get it. Is there still a way to do it, though, if I don’t have something on the trig before it?

There are no “conditional parameter locks,” only “conditional trigs.” I think that’s the more direct answer. :slightly_smiling_face:
