Hello elektron users,
i’m trying to record a few drum loops wich are longer than 64 steps but the RLEN of the recorder only goes up to 64 then MAX
how do i get the record to stop right on time?
i have already tryed to set the recording track at half speed
have i overlooked something?

thenks

yep, google, like so

Edit: Forum-corrupting safer link Google :+1: ignore ^ that one

ups, my bad
ty!

That wasn’t the point, it was just a pointer that this aspect had been discussed a lot on here and google would help find relevant feedback

As you will see from my profile, i have google searching down to a fine art from my perspective, what i hadn’t realised is that my links with google searches frequently get automatically edited by the forum for whatever reason, that’s why i use url shortened links now, often the links would just stop working as has happened here, so i can see how ‘useless’ that link looks now ! Anyway, fair point about getting new takers for a question, but this issue was covered very recently with a lot of good contributions :+1:

This is the exact url i pasted as a link (i also checked it btw) !

Yep, i forgot it kept happening to links i embedded, there is zero point in flagging this forum issue up as all the others have been ignored, it takes a special kind of patience on here with ios, fast running low
OP may want to explore the possibilities pickup machines may offer for longer quantized patterns !

This thread is now the top Google hit for that query

I think a pinned FAQ would help reduce redundancy but I’m not sure whether this forum supports it.

Telling a new poster on a forum to just Google something is arrogant. It damages a forum by keeping out new blood and turning it into a social club for people with high post counts.

If you don’t want to answer a question maybe just don’t post anything and move on.

tbh, it already was first  when i rustled up that (corrupted)link, i was trying to help and not seem reproachful, it was discussed comprehensively very recently !
i can see why there are no stickies here, but it’s a shame that mining this resource is sometimes tricky, but sometimes, as baddcr points out, there are new wheels that get re-invented ! (i thought your thought for the delayed hi-hat retrigger was quite thought provoking) it’s the chance to glean new insights or ways of adapting/exploiting these little epiphanies that draws me in here (again, whilst i systematically use unipolar modulators in Max/Lemur/NordMod/Aalto/Kaivo it hadn’t been my first thought to explore similar routes in the LFO designer) - another nice #OTtip to have in the bag is to set up a low-val flatline dc-offset style lfo design and use the lfo amount to exert fine control on a param that would otherwise be too coarse/steppy
I am thinking long term about setting up design templates of tailored ramps and shapes, it can be a bit too long winded in practice to get accurate stuff

arrogant !, you haven’t a fucking clue about me, at least i gave him something to work on

i tell you what, i’m arrogant enough to tell bluntly you that your pointless (nay nugatory) contribution is exactly the kind of shit that spoils the good vibe on a forum

who gives a fuck about post counts, it only shows that i’m making an effort, unlike some

#troll - < that’s to remind me, because it’s not your first go mrt
so exactly at what point did this thread get sour joker, yeah exactly !

so if i bother you again, just bite your lip, you know, move on !

Haha, nice. Nah, I think you’re right, it’s that thing (Eno?) about getting it right but also getting it slightly wrong - evolution!

Glad that piqued your interest  You have more good thoughts there too. I’ve used that low-value flat line trick before, as well as scaled-down triangles that only go from 4 to -4. It’s interesting with these to hear what the resolution of the parameters really is - in most cases it’s a decent amount higher than the 0-127 or +/- 64 you get without LFOs.
I’ve thought about setting up templates before too but I’ve never gone all the way with it, partly out of laziness and partly out of fear of project corruption. Might be cool to set some up and post them somewhere to share.

Hi, me again,
I tried using the pickup machine but i still dont get how to stop the recording after 256 steps.
 feeling dumb
