Same. Some things pop, some don’t. I have a Mackie Big Knob on my desk, so I can mute everything when needed.
Release notes are out for the new firmware. This has got to be one of the biggest updates for Push 3 yet.
There are loads of quality life improvements it seems. A really surprising amount in fact. Follow actions is huge and are very much underutilised in my opinion.
I also saw this: “When pressing Shift, the LEDs of any buttons that can be used in combination with Shift will light up.” I haven’t tested this yet but that seems like a great idea.
Massive indeed! So many goodies! One of my favorites is the 16 pitches that’s borrowed from the MPC. It makes it so much easier to make melodies from slices or drum hits
When I use expressive chords or play a clip recorded with expressive chords, I get the note range on the screen of my Push3 with each chord played. Which is super annoying. Bug or am I just a useless fool?
Question about licenses: My friend has a license for Ableton 12 that he‘s using with his Push 3. He previously owned Live 11 and upgraded from that. I‘m using his license for running Live 11 on my Mac, no issues whatsoever. Would I be able to use/register a Push 2 with Live 11 on my Mac with his license?
Im not actually sure a Push 2 needs to authorised as it’s just a controller, but if it does, then if you can authorise the Live 11 license on your computer then you should have no issue doing the same on a Push. What version of Live are you using? Lite, Intro, Standard or Suite?
Thanks. I‘m using Live 11 Suite on my laptop. I had my laptop registered as the second laptop of my friend when he still was on Live 11. Now that he has upgraded to 12, it seems to be a bit of a grey area: his user backend on the Ableton site says he could still register another laptop/PC for his license and doesn’t mention anything of my laptop.
The reason I‘m asking is that their website also says you need to register your Push 3 to fully integrate it with Live Suite. And that it’s only one per user. However, that might not matter for Push 2 or even Push 3 in the not standalone version. From what I’ve read online, it seems like you don’t need to register it, unless you want to get some free soundpacks, which I couldn’t care less.
Yeah I don’t think the Push 2 has any kind of licensing system, and that it was added for Push 3 since it can run in standalone
Was Push 2 considered in this update?
I’ve been playing on my Push 3 in the last few days, testing the new update. But as I’ve got arthritis in my fingers, my index finger is in quite some pain right now.
My Push is pretty new, as I’ve mainly been using my Move, do the buttons on the sides of Push loosen up at all after use? I don’t remember my Push 2 having buttons that were quite this stiff.
Yes, extremely annoying, must be a bug! Makes no sense!
No I don’t think they loosen up. Agree they are quite stiff
Yeah same. Hoping that’s a bug.
