Push 3 Users Thread

It baffles me that push doesn’t yet have threshold recording, I’ve been trying to find a way to implement it in standalone but I lack the max knowledge to either make it happen or even be sure its possible.

I think this would make working with audio in push much smoother and I’m surprized I haven’t seen more call for it.

Is it possible to sample into Push 3 (non SA) without switching over and using it as a soundcard in Ableton? It’s tough to find anything on this, everything covers the SA version.

Yes — in Controller mode, Push is just a well-integrated MIDI controller with some optional interface connectivity. Live handles all the actual work, so you can use any sound card that’s connected to your computer.

Also, technically you don’t “sample into” Push, you record an audio clip into Live and load it into a Simpler device. Ableton did a good job making Push feel like a dedicated sampler but everything runs in the DAW.

Ok so the Push audio inputs are not usable in this instance then? Thats what I was curious about. Would be cool to have as an option, since the Move actually can sample in.

There are workarounds: If your interface has ADAT then you could connect it through the Push, setting Push as your sound card but maintaining everything you like about your other interface. Alternately, if you’re using MacOS then you could set up an aggregate audio device. But yeah, generally speaking, you need to have it set up as your sound card.

Can you use a launchkey mk4 with the Push standalone. I mean with all the deep integration you get when using it with Live? Is there any benefit to this combo?

What are people using these days to send PC messages from Push 3 SA?

Have you tried this?

Or this

Thanks, I haven’t. Will try. Only tried the Elektron one, but had difficulties setting up the macros for SA.

By the way, I tried downloading your 303 Drift patch but wasn’t able to load it on the P3. Appreciate your work, hopefully will get it sorted next attempt

I don’t have the answer to this, but I’m also considering a mk4. My Akai APC40mkii works as a controller in standalone, so I have hopes that the LKmk4 would as well.

That’s strange, I just retested and it works fine here. Did it not load Drift at all?

Try this one

As s seperate point approach to my previous issue, does anyone know how slave push (SA) to maschine plus (SA) (or any sampler with simliar) specifically in a manner that allows you trigger recording in push from maschines threshold recording. Again this would make for smoother editing on push i feel

Yeah, it’s weird that the Move needs the whole rack to be nested in a second rack. Not sure why. Anyway I removed it from the Push preset in case it was causing @ex issues.

Is it perhaps not compatible with 11 Suite? Sorry if I’m doing something wrong, I’m new with the Push

Always rearranging the setup it seems.

Here I’m running the iPad into the Push3 via ADAT.

I wish the P3 would support class compliant audio interfaces already:

That looks like a super fun (and also super powerful) set up!

What are you using for ADAT from the iPad?

So you are using Push 3 in controller mode here right? Or are you able to make the lights on Launch Control work with stand alone
