When i would do a purge samples operation to get rid of all my unused samples form the audio pool, will it keep the samples that are not directly linked to a track but assigned using sample locks? I’m afraid to try it out 
As I haven´t done that myself, I can´t answer your question. But anytime when you an issue/question like this where you don´t want to risk a project. One recommendation would be to create an new project just for the very reason of experiment and answering the question.
I realize that it might be quicker to get an answer here. But in other situations of similar kind, it´s a great way of learning. I´ve personally done that myself regarding the Arranger where I realized the relations of Mutes, fader position in regard to the rows.
