Hi all,
Anyone have any alternative solutions to the Protective Lid sold by elektron? Thinking £44 for a piece of plastic is a bit steep …!
Thanks
Hi all,

I would also like something similar. ridiculous price for a piece of plastic but at the same time I’m glad its available incase i can’t find an alternative.
decksaver.de does nice covers, but nothing for Elektron as yet
having 1 protective Lid for 4 machines, I must say this 1 cover is worth it, even though it is expensive as fuck!
if you transport the OT in the Elektron Bag, it really fits snug with the cover, and is seriously well and minimalistically protected …
I asked my Grandma for another one for xmas
15" neoprene laptop case. Obviously it’s not going to protect the RYTM if it’s thrown under a truck but it’s (kind of) padded, pretty waterproof, and cheap.
I was thinking I’d just buy a slightly too big plexiglass box picture frame and not use the backing. They’re like $10 off Amazon.
yep. it’s a good fit & solid material.
for transportation, it’s (near *) perfect.
if you just need a dust cover, it’s overkill.
*if you move your device around a lot with the lid on, the lid may leave marks in the front plate’s paint. doesn’t faze me personally, but something to be aware of.
I’ll be using one of the cheaper aluminium camera boxes you can get from DIY places, buy some cheap foam and cut to size, comes to about £25.
If you’re gigging somebody pointed this out, which is looks decent
But then you are buying those expensive rack ears
Which is around the same cost as the official bag which includes the lid.
As for studio, mine has many scarfs and tea towels draped over lol not very pretty though.
sorry to resurrect an older thread but just got pricing for for these over here, they’re fuckin $89 here in Australia!! Fuck That!
I’ve been thinking that a bit of stiff 1.5 inch foam rubber with holes drilled in it for the pots/cross fader etc might work
old thread resurrections are great! … I do have 4 plastic covers for my 4 children and must say they make my life a lot easier …
I have 1 desk where I eat, internet, produce, occasionally work, movie, series, etc … did I mention EAT ?
so the quicklyness of throwing the lids on is such a winner when I bring my spaghetti in !
can recommend to ask SantaClouse for these!
