Program change msg sent when switching patterns?

hi all, hope someone here can help me…

i’m playing as part of a band. each of the songs has a dedicated pattern on the DT where i’m triggering samples and playing Bass Station II synth for each song.

i’d like the DT to send a prog change message to my BS-II when i switch patterns on the DT, so i don’t have to fiddle with both machines between songs.

i’ve set the programme number on each pattern on midi track A but it doesn’t switch when changing patterns (i can scroll through the BS-II patches with the DT’s programme knob no problem)

is this possible without actually triggering a note or starting the transport first?

Ok, progress made… I can now send prg chng messages to the BS2 when switching patterns on DT without the DT’s transport running. But the specific prg I’ve chosen on the DT’s ‘Track A’ SRC page is ignored; instead, the number of the pattern dictates the prg number in a sequential fashion - select PTN+1 on the DT = prg 0 is sent to BS2, PTN+2 = prg 1, etc.

Is it not possible to have PTN+1 send out prg 88, PTN+2 send out 43 etc?

Thanks!

I don’t own the dt but the octa works like this. PG’s are dictated by the pattern number and this is fixed and unchangeable. Bit of a pain!

Really? That explains it then. There’s no mention of that in the manual that I can see. Good to know, thanks. I’ll work around it.

Hopefully someone with a dt will chime in but it would seem strange if they added advanced midi functions over the octa! The MnM and MD I believe had more sophisticated midi implementation and you could manipulate PG messages per step. Would be a nice option!

I turned PROGRAM CH SEND off in the Settings/Sync page.
I used A midi track to send PROG change message number in the SRC page
