Hi Guys,

I have some questions about pcm. It’s possible to change patterns with pcm over ableton live you can easily control it within midi clips.
I also want to change the clips everytime i change patterns of rytm. Example first pattern in the rytm activate first row of clips in ableton if i switch to second pattern second line of clips will be playing etc.
how can i achieve that? Next question is this possible in sync with OB. As you know at the moment you have to send the pcm some ms before you really want to change the pattern from rytm.

The AR can send a Program Change message when its pattern changes.

I don’t know whether Live can respond to these Program Change messages in the way that you want.

im not sure but i don t think u can change clips in ableton via pcm without something in the midi chain . u need a kinde of midi translation .
maybe bom s midi translator

Thanks for your replies. In the meanwhile i also came to the conclusion a miditransformation tool like midipipe will do the job. I will try it today…

Can you explain how you are sending PCM via clips? I am using CC messages in clips to change scenes within a pattern. But I haven’t been able to figure out how to change patterns with clips.

Hi,

in the midi clip menu (double click midi clip) under Notes you find PGM Change. Draw a note and select PGM 1 for Pattern 1 as example.
