Problems with kits in song mode with Elektron keys

I’ve recently tried to make a song with sequences that have different kits. From reading the manual, I had assumed that each sequence was associated with it’s own kit, but when chaining sequences in a song one kit remained for the whole sequence. Is this normal?

After wasting hours and hours pouring over the manual and copying and recopying sounds and kits into patterns, I have come to the conclusion that there are serious bugs with song mode when you want to chain patterns with different kits. I’m basically posting just to vent frustration.
