I’m working on a set with just the A4 and AR. I have the AR as master for both clock and program change so that when I change patterns on the AR the A4 switches to the same pattern.

The problem I am having is that when a pattern on the A4 is set to a scale of 1/2, it does not change when triggered and essentially runs through the pattern again before it changes, after the AR has already changed patterns.

settings on the AR:
pattern: 64/64
len: 128
chng: off
scale: 1

settings on the A4
pattern: 64/64
len: 64
chng: off
scale: 1/2

Switching the scale to 1 on the A4 makes the problem go away.

I have tried many variations of len & chng on the A4 but all without success. Is this a bug or am I doing my math wrong?

did you try the FN+bank group = direct change settings on the A4

I did not try that - I will give that a shot tonight!

So far I have skirted the issue by making the A4 the master instead of the AR, since none of the patterns I’m creating so far are anything but 1x scale on the AR.

I have also tried various settings for CHNG on both machines, neither with any luck.

With AR as master and A4 as slave, setting CHNG to X on the A4 just makes the pattern play X steps before changing programs. Setting CHNG to OFF has the same behavior as setting it to 64 using the settings listed in the first post. Curious.
