hi all
I updated my RYTM mkii and Overbridge to the most recent versions. I’m using the most recent version of pro tools ultimate on a mac pro running OS 13.6.3
When I try to open the RYTM or the Analog 4 plug ins on an instrument track in Pro Tools I get an error that says:
AAE error was encountered
AAE error -20038 was encountered
Can anyone help me get this sorted out?
Thanks!
Same issue here, with AR and also A4
(Oddly, not with AH mkI)
I’m afraid last OB update didn’t fix

Exactly the same error with Rytm mk2.
Digitone works fine though.
Damn, still the problem after last Pro Tools update
I think it could be an OB issue then

Does anybody have any update on this? I recently started having the same issue with the RYTM MKII AAX Plugin. The standalone overbridge stuff all seems to work perfectly.
I’ve done all the uninstalling / reinstalling i can think of

Same here… Elektron, fix the bug please !
Same issue here with Syntakt … Digitakt works fine
keen to know if somebody shares the problem with ST
Same here with an Analog Four mkII. Opening the AAX plugin version in Pro Tools gets an AAE error, 20038
Opening a session with it already instantiated gets a warning window, “the following plugin was made inactive due to insufficient system resources”.
Using the latest release version, PT 2024.31 and Overbridge 2.8.4, reverting to PT 2023.12 works.
A solution might work for some people by deleting the plugin cache for the plugin causing the problem…
/Users/Shared/Pro Tools/AAXPlugInCache/“name of the plugin”
Then try restarting Pro Tools. Old session with the plugin already open might need to re-load the plugin. Test first in an empty session by loading the plugin and see if the new plugin cache fixed the problem.
Gave this a shot & still just comes up with the -20038 error, havent been able to use my AR MKII for months now with how my studio is configured
Such a frustrating bug. I’ve been having this issue for months with my RYTM and A4. Really needed them today to output an older PT session so I was hoping to find a fix for the issue. I tried all sorts of different things to get it working, but no go.
I aways get this same error [AAE error -200038]. At this time, Overbridge is not able to function as an AAX plug-in in Pro Tools. I am always able to see the Elektron devices selected in the Overbridge Engine, however they have never been able to function as an AAX plug-in, they work in standalone mode only. I have tried repeated re-boots and re-installs. I’ve waited years for updates with bug fixes so it would function within the DAW, however I have never once had Elektron either the AnalogFour or the RYTM function as a plug-in using Overbridge in Pro Tools. I believe Elektron still considers the software ‘beta’ and not successfully working yet, at least for those devices. Is anyone on this forum able to successfully get Overbridge to work as an AAX plug-in on either the AnalogFour or the RYTM?
I can confirm that they were working and I used them in many sessions. I’m not sure if it was an OB update or Pro Tools update that broke them.
Just updated OB and updated to the newest version of pro tools ultimate.
ARmkii - same error
A4mkii - same error
Same issue, no change.
I’d also like to mention that I purchased my A4mkii something like 6 or 7 years ago under the promise from Elektron that I would be able to use it with overbridge and as a plug-in with any major DAW. The AAX plug in worked for me for a precious short time and then poof
I can still go the old route and send MIDI out and return audio in but that doesn’t give me the settings recall, and there’s no plug-in interface.
oh well. Maybe someday

Just updated to Pro Tools to 2024.6 and lost this too.
What a nightmare!
Any updates on if anyone has gotten their A4 or Analog Rytm overbridge working via AAX?
HELLO! is this fixed yet?
