Preview sound does not work in Sound Manager

Hi,

Just bought a Digitakt. Very happy. I immediately updated it to 1.05. So not sure if this thing is a bug.

I can’t preview sounds in the sound manager. The way I preview sounds is exactly what it says in the manual.

Press the [TRIG] key of the active track to preview the sound. Could it be a bug?

Hi there Martin.
It seems to have changed sometime ago (I lost track of all those versions…):
…Press [FUNC] + [YES]
to preview the Sound …

Check for new manual online.
Hope it helps.

But why the change? The previously documented method,

“Press the [TRIG] key of the active track to preview the sound”

seems so much more natural, because you can then just hit [YES] to load there.

“Press [FUNC] + [YES]” which = “Save Ptn” nominally, seems so weird.

the ability to sound lock and the addition of the sound pool are the reason i would imagine as that is when the change happened. sounds can now be locked to each step of the sequencer, functioning similar to a sample lock.
func+yes is the command to preview samples off the +drive so the preview commands are now more consistent.

in my opinion it makes more sense but ymmv.

i seem to have this problem

i can preview the sounds in the plus drive , but not in the sound pool

+drive FUNC YES previews the sound

in the Pool it does nothing

any ideas?

Recorded sample not previewing sound with Fn+Yes.

Anybody know anything about this?

Do you accidently have a midi track selected?

That’s probably it(I’m at work). Thank you!

I will say that that is the sole unintuitive element of the machine. If you’re sampling a synth, theres a likelihood that you’re sequencing it/playing it from the DT.

But, I’ll get over it.
