Possible to trigger Sample Start and Stop via Midi?

I have a Boss ES-8 pedal switcher. I want to use one of the loop sends to send audio to my DT.
Once that’s done, I want to be able to trigger the sampler start and stop on the DT from the ES-8, so that I can capture a live sample while i play.

Is this possible?

I did read the midi implementation section, just wanted to be sure I wasn’t missing anything.

I can’t see a midi implementation chart in the manual so unsure if you can? Start/stop are system common messages rather than program change messages. There’s are a couple of YouTube vids for the boss which might be useful?

You can only trigger sampling by audio threshold or pressing yes
You then have to save it and assign it to a track.

It’s not setup sample/loop like a looper.
You’d need to dig into octatrack / other gear

Midi stuff is at the end I think.

@Theblacklake I simply asked if you checked the midi chart. I didn’t say RTFM, I pointed you in the right direction. Isn’t that more helpful than just figuring it out for you…
