Portable sound octa

Salut les amis

i"m looking for a portable sound system that allow me to play in the street with my octatrack. No too expensive, and medium sound quality wil be enough.
any advice or experience ?

No body use Elektron in the street ?

what about JVC Boombox ?

Yeah,
Thx for the answer. I was feeling alone in this thread.

well, about the system i m looking for, i saw combo like Mipro or things like that. I didnt thought about gettoblaster. I dont think they are enough powerfull.

i dont look for sono like for a live in out door, but i want advices about good amplification system, with battry, to play outdoor with OT, and realise outdoor prestattion in streets ot wood or anywhere where peopke would appreciate to hear samplemushing.

the battery pack issue is still on amongst several octatrackers in this forum … some do have the portability battery packs for MM or MD …

nothing too trusty out there yet imho…please prove me wrong!

Maybe consider a small generator rather than a battery, they can run a lot longer and get them second hand very cheap (either look for ones designed for camping as they run quietly, or get long enough cables to station it away from where you are playing). As for sound system, keep an eye for own brand pa’s at places like studiospares etc - you may want somewhere local though to keep shipping down. The size you’d need would really depend on the size of crowd and environment vs cost, so it may be worth checking out what others use in the flesh to get an idea of what youd need.

my advice on this: get dust protection.

the OT can take cold quite well, i once played at -7°C at a new years party outside a squat. the screen was slightly obscured with condensation vapor, but no fatal water drops…

the OT did not like the one time i played under a highway, with wind-blown brown dust coating me, the dancers and all the gear. i had to open it up and clean some dust out afterwards, because xfader movement became literally grainy.

still, all of these street/outdoor places had sound systems and power generators.

if i had to play in the street of a downtown commercial zone or park or whatever, i would probably do it with a volca sampler and whatever boombox/blockrocker/trolley amp was around… be sure to get something that goes down to at least 60hz, it’s no fun playing completely high-passed.

i’m looking forward to your accounts of your OT-adventures in the street…
i just would not want to risk my most important piece of hardware for a street gig right now…! i’m not even talking about it being damaged or stolen… i think the biggest danger is of it being confiscated by ignorant/intolerant police, of which you will always find a fair amount in any town.

btw. the manual states the OT is not an outdoor machine. but yeah, f*&% that… ; )

btw. : here is some footage from a recent street gig i did (Octatrack plus vocals). ok, technically it was on a roof:
