Wondering if they’ll release these for the System-1. It might be the case that they won’t since the Boutique emulations are running at 44.1 kHz and all the System-1 plug-outs run at 96 kHz. Could be that running these emulations with 4 voices at 96 kHz is a bit too much for the Aria hardware.
Ah, I didn’t know the Boutiques weren’t 96 kHz. You might be right. Especially with the chorus effects on top.
I never touched a real Jupiter-8, so I can’t say anything about the JP-08, but the JU-06 sounds and especially responds to its controls like an actual Juno-106.
With the huge benefit that you can dial the noise in the chorus down.
If only Roland would have added proper MIDI CC support. And six voices…
I want to recommend a Tetra, but the interface is quite far from 1 knob per function.
No more menu diving than an A4 or MM.
Push button, turn knob.
But yea, I skimmed over your one knob per function request.
Have a look at the Nord Lead 2x.
… it would have been mine ! Even for +150€
this guy is selling a Nord Lead 1 rack for $375

roland SH32?
+1 for the system 1m, also that Micromonsta looks very tempting…
How much menu diving is required with the access virus?
I am in total love with my Nord A1. I know it’s out of OPs price range, just adding to the Lead love.
the minimonsta looks awesome
+1 for Nord Racks. My NR2 is a keeper. Maybe a Nord Modular g1 Rack as another option if you are daring.
+1 for Access Virus desktop. Advantage over (older) Nords is the built in FX. Interface less convoluted than an Analog4 and easily understandable, although deep if you need to go there.
Multitimbrality & midi specs of these combined with multiple OT midi tracks is a very compatible match.
Also recently acquired a roland JX03 & JU06… really taken by them both.
Used to own a jx3p with pg200 & a Juno6. The sounds are very similar, & am loving the bonus lower osc tunings, extra sine osc, extra sync & metal modes on the jx03. Definitely does better bass than the old jx3p.
The JU06 is just so quick to bang out patches & save. Love the extra lfo speed over the original, and has more low end than the jx03.
The size of sliders/knobs on these is absolutely fine to use, & the portable form factor, controls, & solid sound make them keepers. Can really see the potential for live jamming…as long as 4 note poly is enough.
Been running synced Korg z1 poly arps into them and just tweaking for hours over the last week or 2.
alternatives… maybe Novation Nova desktop if u can find one.
Beyond these cheapish options… a Prophet 08 desktop, Mutable Instruments Ambika, Futuresonus Parva would all be solid
Personal taste, but I still prefer the Blofeld over the Virus TI, not as knobby, but I find it more intuitive.
Tetra. for the price they’re going for these days, it’s worth the pain of menu diving.
I love the sound!
