im happy to stay a couple releases behind brand new, certainly would be pretty silly to do a new one this soon but if it means tracker+'s start showing up for chips, i’ll definitely upgrade my OG to a plus
There have been supply issues for a while. I tried picking up some Polyend stuff before Xmas and it wasn’t straightforward. Plenty of sites were going in and out of stock.
Also, yeah it would be mad to release a new one at this point. The new version was only released in 2024. And since the idea of Tracker is dusty old-school vibes and whatnot, the old ones (or the new/old ones if you’re on the +) are still totally valid. I can forgive the Play/Tracker move to the + variants, but premium hardware that lasts 2 years imo isn’t a good look. I was hoping to see them move to a more Elektron pace of releases after the pandemic gave a half-legit reason to upgrade so soon.

They have all the product lines consolidated and rolling out the synths between them now so it would be nuts to change it now.
I think they’ve stopped producing the product because the components have become too expensive for the market price. Especially since the mini tracker is selling better. Mitch’s answer is a bit weird

I guess that they sold more tracker mini. It’s much much more convenient that the larger version. But as you said, maybe the components are unavailable or costs too much.
No, I think it just means sold out at the moment.

I bought a $500 radio.
This thing picks up more stations than my cars radio.
Excited to be back in the tracker realm! Especially with these synth engines.

Picked up one of these for $520 euro yesterday. I had the first one and really liked it except for mono only which is why I let it go. Excited to dive in on this new one

Having played around a bit since picking it up:
-missed using this interface and workflow
-synths are really good for onboard sounds
-great to have stereo samples
-forgot how great the mini pads are for note/step and playing sounds
-performance mode, great as always
I’ll be hanging on to this, really loved the first one but as said in last comment, sold because of mono only.
This is a great upgrade, and 0 learning curve having owned the original
