CB Clean got an internal SC Filter (you can dial in how much HP Filter) which also works on the external SC if you use one.
Really? That would be cool.
How do you set the internal SC? I find nothing related in the manual and even wrote them, a future feature request about this and they never answered something like âbut it has an internal sc alreadyâ but rather that theyâre gonna consider it for the future? Thatâs weird
And the manual goes
â SIDECHAIN
Allows you to use an external audio signal to trigger the compression, useful for syncing to drums and other Instruments. When engaged, the compressor will follow the signal plugged into the 1/8" SIDECHAIN input on the side ol the pedal instead of the input audio.â
But if you guarantee to me that it does indeed has an internal SC and how it works - how do you set it This will make me seriously reconsider buying oneâŚ
Manual page 19.
Its the EQ poti while holding both knobs.
Ah! That is wonderful! So it is in the âhiddenâ functions.Iâm wondering why they didnât tell me this in their email response
OK I think Iâm gonna order one.
Thank You very much for chipping in.
Dont know, i mean maybe cause the SC thing is a little bit confusingly described as âhow the env follower worksâ which is in fact how SC acts.
I can´t say anything about this Polyend Compressor here but (sorry in advance for slightly OT) some thoughts about the CB Clean:
My guess is that it can really good act as a mixing and mastering compressor, its stereo and good sounding, but it also shines as a playful thing on single signals. The different styles of Comp (liniting, FF, FB), the EQ-modes and Physics things and also the Dirtmode on top lets you try and play a lot. Also its more listening carefully than reading numbers on Attack and Release and Treshhold potis what maybe is a disadvantage for someone but for others its more helpful in learning to use a compressor creativly instead of having fear of this complicated device a compressor is.
Also, given that it seems to be that the Mystery Box was often packed with the Clean and a lot of people were hoping they get something else it might be that you will find a Clean for a good price on the used market.
For synth-nerds its cool to have a choice today between small and great Comp pedals like this OTO thing, the Polyend thing, the Clean and so on. They all seem to have different aspects and its cool to have those good choices.
