Playing with A4 in-built in keyboard different than playing from midi keyboard

My A4 patch behaves differently if I play it with the built keyboard vs a midi keyboard.

If I set the kit Poly Config to 1 voice in Unison

When playing the patch with the in built keyboard, If I maintain note 1 pressed and then play note 2, it will change to note 2. If during this process I did not release note 1, and subsequently release note 2, the pitch will return to note 1.

The same doesnt happen when playing the same patch on a midi keyboard. The pitch doesnt return to Note 1 if I release Note 2, the sound just stops.

Any ideas?

I wonder if this could be some sort of “Low Note Priority” type setting on the A4 or your keyboard?

What is the particular controller/keyboard your using the play the A4 with?

Thanks for your input. Its an Akai MPK mini, Im playing the A4 via Overbridge on a track on Ableton.

As a guess you might check out the Portamento and Legato settings on the A4.

Also, if you have access to a second keyboard/controller, do you get similar behavior?
