Hi there everyone!

So thanks to helpful answers to an earlier question, band practice is going well  We are hoping to start playing out in the spring.

However my friend and I are finding that my little Roland Cube Street Stereo (which worked fine for me to practice piano) is not a fan of our club-style kick drums at any significant volume, and gets the overload circuit triggered.

So it seems like I need to step up the amp situation. Can anyone share what types of amps/PA they find work well with Electron gear?

We’re doing mildly noisy improv…I’m using a Digitakt and a Korg LittleBits synth I have mounted to a piece of wood :joy: while my friend plays along on a few SK-1 keyboards run through a stack of guitar pedals and a Volca Beats. I think I’m looking for something more clean than with its own “character”.

Thoughts?

Wow, that’s a perfect rabbit hole! FWIW, I play percussion in several acoustic bands (4 to 7 musicians) and play moderate volume technoish music live with 2 RCF Evox J8, which I find nicely priced for what they deliver. But choice and opinions really are infinite in this area…

I have a rcf 702, which ia enough for 100 to 150 people, bass is very clean and goes down to 42 hz, tops are yamaha 400 (8 inch)bt, also very hifi for a pa, 600 (12 inch) would also work. Having a good bass, is just a lot of fun. 20kg is also very portable.

Amp is active/internal on the 702, tops have a power mixer, which has 8 in and bluetooth.

I’ve used an Electro Voice ZXA-1 for some gigs with the Octatrack. Other gigs there already a PA so I just used the PA that was already there.
