Playing midi gear thru OT

hi there i just got my octatrack last week and i want to thank everyone on this this forum for all the post and help provided i’ve worked out a lot of stuff through here… there’s still one thing i can’t figure out is.

.i want to be able to play various midi channel of the virus ti thru the octatrack and tweak audio tracks filters delay etc at the same time … but when i switch to audio mode the midi stops i’ve tried assigning the midi channels to 9/16 to avoid conflict but it still cust out is there a way to fix that thx already

By “play various midi channel of the virus ti thru the octatrack” do you mean “play live from an external keyboard” or “sequence from the OT”?

if you sequence the notes on the OT midi channel, they should keep playing when you switch back to an audio channel

can’t remember whether you can play midi through the OT when not on the midi page/s

Well that sounds like you are using Auto ch to receive midi to your OT
I typically do not use this, I set my midi keyboard to the midi ch of the instrument I want to control, (EX: chan 9)

Then, you need to ensure at least one track in MIDI NOTE SETUP is set to that channel number (chan 9) so the OT lets the MIDI thru the MIDI OUT.

For various tracks, just setup as many track needed.

You should be good to go.

thx everyone for your replies… midi sequence is not a problem… but yes i’m using the auto channel to play through as it’s very fast to select the sound you want… i want to be able to play record midi loops live to build tracks and sometimes do a bit of noodling while affecting the audio effects once i’ve done the backing track… i’ll try not using the auto channel and changing the channel on the midi keyboard instead see if that works great idea thx…
