Today I rediscovered Pink Floyd’s Atom Heart Mother.
Imo the original mastering is pretty awful. Much too dull, too many mids and not airy. So I remastered my CD from 1987. This album is much too underrated.
There is so much to discover. Drums are delayed on left and right channel. Extensive use of large reverbs. Left and right panning. Lots of interesting sound effects.
Go and listen to it - you will discover even more!

There is a lot of Beatlesy-morricone-ims in there. It could have been a great spagetti western soundtrack. the recording I have distorts whenever it gets loud Has there ever been a new official remaster? Would love to hear it done properly.

I have distortion, too. Afaik there is remastered from 2011 available.
Even the Floyds weren’t happy with their album. That’s what i meant with underrated.

If you lower the mids, boost the bottom end and raise the high frequencies you will get a nice sound but with more distortion.
