Pics from the Skinny Puppy show here in Seattle, on 3.1.14

25 years after first hearing Rabies, i FINALLY get to see Skinny Puppy! Here are the pics i took.

I used to be a big SP fan. Back when i was much younger!

That show looks intense. But that’s fitting I suppose!

Nice pics! SP used to be a big part of my life (I used to co-moderate the Litany message board), but my opinion has soured towards certain people in the Subcon camp and I decided to skip this tour (first time I’ve missed them since they reformed)…kinda regretting it now, but so it goes. Looks intense as always!

Nice work! I saw them live for the first time just over a week ago. The production is so alluring, and your photos capture their magnetism well.

How was BAAL? I’ve never listened to them, but I know they have the support of cEvin Key. We got Army of the Universe. Pretty bleh, imo. Though, they have Andy Selway of KMFDM drumming for them on this tour, which is kind of cool, I guess.

Thanks for sharing your pics!

It has hard to judge BAAL as their sound was kind of terrible. The guitar was WAY too loud in the mix, and i was right in front of his amp, so i that was most of what i heard. All guitar. The vocals were hard to discern, and the pre-recorded tracks were buried too far in the mix. All i can say is, they gave me a headache. But not because i thought they sucked, but because i got an overdose of guitar.

But they seemed like super nice people. I’m gonna give their studio stuff a listen and draw conclusions from that.

SP were fantastic!!! It was sooo cool and weird to hear all these songs i’ve listened to for so many years, and 100s of times live. Ogre was actually really ill, and because of this, they were unable to perform an encore, which was a huge bummer. But i’m just glad he got the energy to power through it.

Was REAL surprised to hear The Choke.

Ha, typical case of backline so loud the engineer can’t get anything over it. Probably didn’t have any gtr in the mix at all. Way too common unfortunately :frowning:
Great pics tho man

Just saw them a few days ago in SF. I’ve seen them 9-10 times now, but I think this was the best. Ken highwatt marshal was doing the live sound and vocal fx processing and it sounded soooo good. Got my poster signed after the show because an old buddy of mine was the stage manager for them this tour

Just saw them in Boston a few weeks ago for the first time. Cool small venue, loved the theatrics.
