Hi All,
I’m working on a live looping setup with electric bass, a MIDI foot controller, and the OT. I’m still a bit head-scratchy on my options with the pickup machines.
- Using pickup machines and a foot controller, is there a way to set up an A-B structure on a song, like the “series” mode on the Boomerang III (explained here: http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/jan13/articles/boomerang-iii.htm ). So that
Loop 1 contains one set of chords and melodies
Loop 2 contains a different set of chords and melodies (I realize it will be constrained by the duration and tempo of loop 1—I can live with that for now).
-
Let’s say I record a loop with overdubs (note 60, note 60 again, then note 64). Then I hit 70 to start the sequence playing in time with it. Now I want to replace the loop without stopping the sequencer. What midi command do I hit? Note 60 just overdubs again.
-
Is there a command to stop the sequencer and clear the buffer on the pickup machine? Essentially a “start over” that lets me begin a new loop AND set a new tempo.
-
I’m assuming there’s no undo at this point. In practice, what do you do if you hit a bum note?
-
As I overdub, the loop gets louder. Is there a workaround for this?
Thank you! There will be more but I plan to post a report once I have it figured out.
