Macro lenses usually have a switch on the side that lets you choose close or far focus range, if you have it on macro it won’t focus further than ~0.5m.
Went on a short hiking trip to the saxon switzerland national park and took my new-ish Nikon Z7 with me - awesome camera and the nature was great as well. Many nice walks with lots of interesting views, highly recommend!
Did you check that the switch on the side in either on full-range or 0.5 to infinity ? (And that you are on AF to do your checks ?) Check on the MPB description if this was something flaggued or not. If not, they should provide as warranty coverage AFAIR.
@ligature I’ve engaged the 3-way switch on the side and checked in camera that there’s no custom settings (when on full). AF is on, but I’ve gone through manual mode too just in case without luck.
Nothing was flagged on MPB.
I am still hopeful its user error! But, I’ve watched every YT video on the lens and I can’t do the same.
EDIT: Email sent to MPB. Fingers crossed this all works out (and I’d be be happy to learn its user error).
I’d try to clean the contacts, maybe wiggle the switch a bit, but if the camera detects the lens and the switch just does nothing, not sure what else you can do.
Hello! I’ve recently started presenting my photography in video format—here’s a first glimpse.
All images were captured with a Fuji X100VI and are straight out of camera (SOOC).
