Yeah, New Adventures is great but Automatic for the People is more attached to nostalgia for me. My parents used to play it a lot when i was a kid and was often the soundtrack to our family beach trips.

World of Echo was my introduction to Arthur Russell’s music and I quickly became obsessed with it. At this point it’s probably the album I listen to the least but it’s definitely gotten the most plays and also happens to be one of the “most influential” albums on my list.

I hope that day comes for you. I don’t think Blonde is a perfect album, but it distills so many ideas and feelings. Its best moments feel like a fragmented dream of contemporary pop music
