So I have been inspired by DaveMech’s videos where he uses the xone db4 mixer as the hub for his live sets. I’m looking to pick up a 4 channel mixer and was wondering what people are using or if you have any recommendations. The DB4 looks great but it is very expensive.

Second hand db4’s go for pretty low prices 
Might want to check out the px5 as well. Same fx engine plus you get send returns, analog signal path etc. And great price for such a mixer.

Plenty of differences. Very different mixers. I have one at home now so expect a couple of videos of it in a few months
Db4 is more complex. It has a full fx section per channel, looper per channel. Switchable eq/filter section per channel, input matrix. Super flexible routing options. I go over it in detail in my db4 videos.
Px5 is analog, with digital fx. Has a send return which you can combine with its internal fx engine. Also has a master send return. Bit more traditional dj mixer other than that.

db4 looks dope, but it might not be suported by latest macosx.

Really depends on what you want.
I used a 3 channel Vestax VMC-180 for a few years and was very pleased. Mixed Rytm, A4, and a Pigtronix Infinity Looper. Stereo aux sends on all channels were handy for sending to the looper. And I eventually used the mono mic input for my BS2.
I got it on eBay for $100 and it sounds great. If you just need the ergonomics of a DJ mixer, faders, EQs, and sends, check out some used Vestax mixers. They still hold up.
Don’t really use mine anymore, but not will to sell it, as it was a really good deal.
They sold new for £419.
Ive used this mixer (not my listing) when Djing for close to a decade. The fact it’s also a midi controller made it really versatile for all types of live situations. No efx but I’d utilize my DAWs or other external boxes that I’d be able to control with the middle section. Eclers sound great and a lot of love is poured into their development. Major downer with the Nuo is its send and returns are super lame compared to other mixers.

I wanted an Ecler Nuo 3 when I bought the Vestax. Love the 8.8 inch wide, slim profile on it. Almost the size of a MK1 Elektron, turned sideways.
DJ mixers can be so big these days.
