Perf / Scene Mode

Hi fellow elektronauts,

after fiddling with AR for a few hours I’m happy with what I’ve been able to get out of it so far. However, I have yet to figure out how to use scene and perf modes. Does anyone have a few pointers on how to get started?

Thanks
Hans

While in perf/scene mode press function + pad to select the pad that you want to program.
Select track from where you want to add a parameter by selecting track as normal (track + pad).
Hold the scene/perf pad and twist parameter knob (from any parameter page) to program scene/perf offset.

And remove parameter offset from pad/scene by holding the scene/perf pad (while in edit mode) and press the parameter knob.

@Petur - Nice explanation! Maybe post this also in the “How do I” thread

Thank you! i RTFM and it didn’t say any of this. So WTF don’t they explain things fully in TFM so when we RTFM we know WTF is going on?

So if you change the sample number parameter, it will play a different sample in when the scene is on, right? What about in perf mode? Also in perf mode, what if sample start/end points are altered?

It is in the manual. On page 21 & 22.

Indeed it is. I just found your explanation so much easier to follow. I should have said ’ the manual didn’t say it like this’. My bad…I was experiencing a moment of light frustration

THANKS for that!

I don’t know if this is in the manual or not, but one of my favorite Performance mode features is that the pad pressure level sticks if held when you leave Performance mode. Then when you return to Performance mode from Mute or whatever you can tap the “stuck” pad and it will go back to its unheld state. great for breakdowns/meltdowns.

Indeed. And to expand on that, if you leave performance mode while a pad is pressed, and go into Scene mode, and trigger scenes, they will work on the “performance altered” sounds, opening the door to all sorts of mad breaks.

Nice tip hadn’t tried performance “sticking” yet

Is there a way to turn this sticking feature off?
