YO! Just got the gear all velcro-ed in for them DEEP deeeep Black V-Neck technoz! Main problem is with the top left corner. Power strip and all the warts are takin up space. Would like to make room for another box or something.
Do any of you savy electronics folks know of any solutions to clear that up or even a DIY build (am handy with the soldering iron). The goal is to be able to walk into a gig, plug in 1 power cord and go. Everything fits in this Thon pedal case. I’ve thought about using the top (which is like 4-5in deep) as the bottom and channeling hard foam.
Also, any recommendations on shorter cables for the backs? Right angled or maybe there’s something more lo profile out there?
You can find audio and midi cables with angled connectors in varying degrees of ‘thickness’.
This midi cable is fairly flat
This cable can be adjusted in different angles.
Flat TR cable
Flat TR cable from Cordial I use these for my patchbay, good quality and if needed easy to disassemble for repair.
*Edit
You were actually looking for a solution for the messy power cable situation, not the audio/midi side, sorry.
AFAIK there are right angled power plugs/dc plugs, so you could either solder them on yourself or maybe it could be possible to use adapters (straight dc plug into right angled)?
Together with right angled audio and midi plugs, you could tidy up the cable mess and better hide the cabling and PSUs under foam.

Depends on the size of the other box you might want to add/ how much space you want to free up. If you convert a lot of your cables to right angle you could move the top pieces (Arturia a and Erica) closer to the bottom row and use the resulting space above for some of the power supplies. If they no longer reach the power strip you can make (or maybe buy?) short extension cords. If the power strip itself is in the way maybe you can build a tiny shelf/ box so another piece of gear can sit on top of it, if it’s low profile is low enough.
As for the cables, you said you’re handy with a soldering iron so you should just buy some right angle jacks and make some custom cables. It’s super easy and so much cheaper than buying cables that are never perfect for your setup.
