Sorry my fool asking guys…but I am scratching my head around this:

How is it possible?
[about a Pattern not linked…

A project contains 128 patterns and 128 kits. There are two approaches :
-
each pattern refers to a different kit (a one-to-one arrangement). In this situation there will be no unattached kits (all kits will be attached, each to a single pattern).
-
more than one pattern can refer to the same (single) kit. This arrangement is useful when you want a song to consist of several patterns, but want to use the same sounds across all of these patterns (#). Thus naturally, there will be one or more unattached kits.
(#) Be aware that editing the sounds in a shared kit will affect all patterns that make use of this kit.
maybe you missed sicijk’s point, i think he knows the layout, i think he was asking how a pattern can be unlinked from a kit !? maybe a fresh pattern !? maybe a typo or i missed the point too !

Thought the same avantronica…cmd+V (ctrl+V) during the Manual composition.
-OR-
a not saved Pattern, something like a fresh-juice to be saved as soon as possible!
Just a fool curiosity anyway …

i.e. what I described in my ‘second approach’ in my previous post.

I know how to get an asterisk for a Kit.
I was curious how it can happen for a Pattern.
Ive had it happen before I think, when I first got my ak - a pattern full of trigs where I had been playing a kit before was just playing default sounds and not linked to anything, am guessing was soemthing to do with not saving the kit before changing project or something, but dont know the steps to do it again (it wasnt done on purpose!).

So…it happens…!
good to know =)
thanks guys (I stopped scratching my head=)
Oh also just remembered whilst dumping some sounds over sysex… You can back up patterns without the attached kits, so they will all be kitless patterns if you save them like that!
Is probably what I did when I found it happen to me, hit save pattern not save kit or something!
