Hello - so, all the tracks have their own individual level controls but is there one for the whole pattern? Meaning everything. Tracks and effects.
My point is that you can create a few patterns and start jamming with them, making chains and trying out combinations but sometimes one pattern is much too loud. So you just want to turn it down a bit, so that the level doesn’t jump up when the chain reaches that pattern. Having carefully balanced all the tracks within the pattern so that it sounds good it’s annoying to have to adjust each track and effect volume to keep the balance just right. It needs a master volume! If there is one I haven’t found it yet. If anyone could help me out with this problem I would be very grateful.
I’m new to A4 as well, and couldn’t find a master level anywhere. Maybe you can set up a performance macro, bipolar -64 to +63 that controls each of the track levels.
A good plan, Poonti, and close but not quite, I think! Because…you only have five parameters per knob in performance mode and you need (at least) seven. Four for the tracks and three for the internal effects. That’s how it seems to me anyway.
You could set up knob A for all the tracks and knob B for all the effects levels - that would be a big improvement but it’s still untidy and requires the sacrifice of two of your ten performance controls just to provide a volume control. Not ideal, I’d say.
Page two of the performance setup area does have one fader on screen for the FX return level but you can’t access it with a performance control, so far as I can tell.
All in all quite a lot of messing about for something that should be just…there, I should have thought.
Surely this is something that would be useful, no? Especially when it comes to constructing whole songs.
Well, two years on, my life irrevocably changed and my Analog 4 tidily packed away for most of that time, until tonight. Updates come and are, themselves, updated.
So, my question remains…is there are master volume for patterns yet, as detailed above? I should plan better, but when you’re in a creative mood sometimes these things get overlooked. In my case, anyway.
So, before I pester Elektron for such a feature is anyone able to confirm that it isn’t already implemented!
Hello ,
Yes, but I think he/she is looking for a overall KIT-volume setting ?
Witch dousn’t exist
It would be very usefull …[/quote]
^This!
I have the A4 and am seriously considering the AK and wondering with this exact same “Kit Volume/Overall Setting”, and since the Analog Keys has the Individual Outs and Mains, does the AK have this ability or the two O.S. completely the same? Thanks in advance.
I too, for last few years, have thought I was just not understanding manual or missed some button combo to get to a page for this.

I have both and it’s exactly thesame - haven’ used the individual outs yet and I don’t know if the level of the individual outs can be fixed at Kit - level. the invividual outs or dry tho ( no FX ) if I’m not mistaken.
Hold function turn ‘level’ knob? Could display ‘Kit Level’ in the lcd.
Thinking about all this tho, any significant OS changes now directly relate to over bridge… so a change in the OS also means a change in the plugin. Something to think about.
Slightly OT, but I’d love a simple way to simply mute all trigs. Is there a way to do that? I don’t want to mute the track, just all trigs… on/off… with external gear like keyboards, or a midi clip, its a really neat way to switch between multiple patterns on one track.
I saw a dude had a workaround which is to save a kit as muted, then clear mutes, and reload to mute again. A little funky but it works. Would be nice to be able to say, hold function, double tap trig mute to mute or unmute all muted trigs.
Ok, with an Analog Four connected to Ableton via Overbridge, I can send midi clips, or play from Push, directly to a track on the Analog Four.
If the track already has trigs on it, then my playing, or my clip from Ableton, kind’ve, choke the notes from the Analog Four. So, say I have a Chord stab coming in from Live, but the A4 is playing a pattern, they’ll kind’ve alternate and work together. It’s kind’ve great actually.
Being able to mute the pattern, the whole pattern, would give you that control to say ok, now I want the chord stab (ableton), now I want the pattern(a4), now I want both (a4+live).
Exactly !
As for many other requests - it’s easy to ask - or to say " why didn’t they do this or that " - but we don’t really know the technical implications.
Same for the individual track - timescale multiplyer wich is requested a lot, Ofcoarse it would be fantastic but the sequencers in there are a new- and CV-type. wich is something different than the midi-sequencers in the OT and the Mm. I don’t know - but I wouldn’t be suprized that’s the reason it’s not implemented.
