I’ve been working on getting pattern changes from ableton with multi map
but it’s not working as expected…
Transpose works great 
Not a problem
But pattern changes seems to not work I’m pretty sure I’m setting it up correctly but it doesn’t react to the octave I set it in and generally weird behaviour…
Program changes are just as bad doesn’t seem to work either
I’ve seen other threads are there any solutions yet?
Solutions, if any, are obviously in the other threads you saw.
I’ve been trying to get it work for many hours and reading a lot of threads and am still having issues so I posted this on the forum, there was no point to your comment really mate and wasn’t helpful
You should maybe try to describe your problem more precisely…
" It does not work as expected" and “program changes are just as bad doesn’t seem to work either” are a bit vague, since I get them to work on my side…
I can understand you are upset and frustrated but if you want help, you should at least consider to give us a little something to work with…Mate.
I wrote what was happening it is not responding to the midi in the correct octave.
I watched the tutorials done exactly as they have and it’s not working
And the program changes are not working either.
No need to be sour, you could of just said I needed more info in the first place and of a sarcastic comment
I had an issue awhile back with ableton and it turned out the midi note numbers were different (an octave , I believe) on the Elektron vs ableton, ymmv.
I tried all different octaves it would only change a pattern in the same octaves I set for the transpose (C0 - B2) . When I had set the pattern changes from C3 up ?
I can get transpose to work ,
but cannot get transpose and pattern change on the same multi map to work.
They are both on midi channel 8
Have you tried to give the “pattern change” section a larger range instead of just the lowest octave? The lowest octave is treated quite special on some Elektron machines. Maybe there’s a bug hiding there …
As already someone asked above: have you checked if your PERF channel setting (8) conflicts with any other configured channel?
I tried different octaves having patterns on top layer… no other midi on channel 8…
After trying for 2 days with no luck I’ve decided to go with program change for now as I have a Rytm also and that doesn’t even have multi map and I will have to do it that way anyhow on Rytm…
And I’ll just use multimap for transpose and other things only
I can get program change to work just have to set the clips a bit early unfortunately.
Would be nicer if didn’t have to do that but doesn’t seem to be any other way …
But at least I’m able to sketch an arrangement in ableton for both machines
And tweak and multi track record and start working on some music again!
