Pattern change after finishing

Hey all,

I am setting up my first live set with the A4 and machinedrum, however I have realized that when I change patterns on the A4 they change instantly, unlike on my MD which waits for the pattern to finish.

Anyway to change it so the pattern changes after it finishes like on the MD?

Yes. From what I understand, there are three different ways the patterns can change:

  1. Instant cutoff (like what I think yours is doing) where it will instantly start the next pattern from the beginning.

  2. Instant but in time. The pattern changes automatically but the next pattern starts on the step when you changed it. This is really cool for mashing up patterns and doing dj style loop juggling tricks while performing. Everything stays in sync.

  3. wait till next bar…

I’m not by my manual right now, so my wording is prob a lil off… but I suggest you download the much larger technical manual off the website. It goes into detail on how to switch the modes there.
