Hey guys - I’m a bit new here so if I’m bringing up something that has been talked to death don’t kill me
Been diving deep into the OT lately and I’m currently setting up a template for the production of an album and I’ve mostly gone from revelation to revelation - until today when I noticed something odd.
Running the 8th track as a master I have two parts where the only difference is the effect being used on the master. Part one - lowpass filter. Part two - hipass.
When playing around I noticed that sometimes I experience a short glitch when switching parts. It’s like it skips the first kick. Could be some interference with the highpass not adjusting to its new setting directly - but I’m curious if my scenario rings any bells with you ninjas.
I tried with a totally different sample, but it’s the same. If I enter 16 notes in a 16 pattern, the first note almost always gets chopped out. But only if I’m using a different master effect. Haven’t tried with manipulating other areas yet - but though it might worth mentioning.
But it’s kind of weird. That practically renders the Part functionality almost useless. Either there must be a setting somewhere that I’m missing or you’re not supposed to switch effects with the Part system.
Bloatfield:
I sugggest you to build your confidence around the issue step-by-step.
Also because you started speaking HPF vs LPF
but now this is described happening on switching effects, in general…
Anyway: copy the Part to a blank slot, then to the pasted one change the Filter setting, and keep going making trials to spot the problem…as soon as ill have a spare min (im working todaySunday too…) i’ll my do my empirical tests
