I recently ran up against the Rytm’s parameter lock limit. The manual says up to 72 different parameters can be locked in a pattern, but one parameter counts as 1 of those 72, so numerous trigs can lock that parameter and count as only 1.
I have a few main questions:
-
When I was trying to add more parameter locks and getting the message “Lock Mem Full,” the locks that I was making seemed to stay, in that the inverted text color stayed. My instinct tells me that if I got a “Lock Mem Full” message, it wouldn’t save those new p-locks. Is it taking p-locks away from somewhere else?
-
Do Performance Mode/Scene mode locks count against this 72? I didn’t think I really had 72 different parameter locks just on sequencer trigs.
-
Is there a place where you can see how many p-locks you have used out of the 72?

The manual says “a parameter counts as one locked parameter no matter how many trigs that lock it. If for example the cutoff parameter of the filter is locked on every sequencer step, there are still 71 other parameters that can be locked”, so…
Does that hold true for different tracks? Like if the filter cutoff parameter is p-locked on trigs on the bass drum, snare drum and cowbell tracks, does it still count as only 1 parameter?
Thanks if anybody can shed light on this for me!
