made a trial account.
played with the demo .
downloaded 4 x sound packs.
all on mac.
some of the text on the interface is TINY … but it sounds good.
just to add - the sample library is full of very usable sounds / classic breaks and beats too … nice bass / atmospherics ./ drum n bass … even if you dont pay you get a lot in the demo.
and finally - the google password manager didnt generate a compatible password … it needed non numerical symbol to be added … otherwise it looked a bit like the password didnt work … !@£$%^$@ … one of those types of squiggles needed to be added.

I planned to cobble something together with Max and Ableton that I wanted to use as a remix machine for all of my personal loops and recordings, but this is definitely a much more sophisticated sample mangling tool than everything I could ever do. And it has a great UI, something that is getting more important to me these days.
Only thing that keeps me from buying right now, is the price. But I hope the price is also a sign, that the developer takes his work seriously. I think he has an algo rave background, which is cool.
As far as I understand, PAM is optimized for live play, which makes sense being inspired by algo rave.
I wish MAP Audio all the best, I hope they survive in this economy.

I’m almost certainly going to buy this. It’s not cheap but they have an option for rent-to-own which makes it affordable, especially for what you get.
However, I need more than a 7 day trial to decide.
I’ve emailed them to ask about this possibility. I’ll post their response here.
I hope more people see this plugin… it really does seem very good!

This thing seems to have everything you could possibly want in a drum/sample machine. It’s very wild indeed, and leagues ahead of anything else I’ve ever used.
Usually when you get a drum machine, you’re always thinking of things that it could have to make it better, but this developer seems to have thought of everything - stuff I wouldn’t have ever thought to consider.
The GUI is a little difficult to get your eyes around at first but changing the colours seems to help.
I can see after only using it for 10 minutes that there is lots of fun to be had here. I’ve literally no idea what’s going on at times but everything I press seems to create happy mistakes!

At $120 it’s a bit less of a dilemma. The 7 days of demo were really short but in the end, combined with the manual, enough to see that it runs smoothly and has a lot of potential.
Now, a good whole week for RTFM. Heehaaah !!

I’ll add here, I emailed the dev and they said the discount code will work even if you do the rent-to-own option (it should apply every month).
I’m going to demo it tomorrow and if it’s good I’ll buy it after the 7 days.
It looks like a very deep plugin… please everyone post your experiences, thoughts, and tips for it in this thread!

Wow … I missed that one. I think I tested most of the drum synth vst out there but this one seems special …
Super deep, but still manageable. When I first opend it I thought it would be unusable but the UI is actually quite smart and there are lots of clever things everyhere in the interface. It seems that he packed everything you can think of in terms of functionnality but somehow manage to keep it logical UI wise.
It’s definetly pushes you to try weird stuff. There’s an obvious octatrack vibe ( the looper, resampling etc … ) and MD vibe. Two of my favourite machines …
Not sure yet about stability but i will keep testing it to see if it’s worth the super steep price…

Been playing round with the elements in the browser version on their website. It is really tickling that part of the brain but I just don’t know if I have the mental overhead to incorporate this. Still working on getting my head round TorsoS4 and Tonverk. On top of bitwig and Maschine+… Is this overkill? I need to simplify and streamline not add more gear/software. But it is immediate performance fun.
I balk at the price - which is ridiculous because if this was hardware I wouldn’t blink at paying over 1k dollares for these capabilities -it seems essentially the super-octatrack. In fact even just a bespoke hardware controller and I’d be in.
Should I just sell up everything, buy an acoustic guitar in preparation for the energy crisis apocolypse? Advice needed.
My rule is to get rid of the hardware I haven’t used for 6 months. Software is a little different as this is trickier to sell. I usually delete any plugins that I rarely use as it gets in the way of creativity when there’s too many options.
